Angela Campbell commenced her career path as an enthusiastic young girl, writing local notes on her hometown, Swinford, for The Western People Newspaper. She then emigrated to London and took up a position in Editorial for The Financial Times, before gaining entry to the prestigious University of Westminster to study photography, while working full time with The Irish World Newspaper in London.
She has been privileged to photograph the past 3 Presidents of Ireland as well as many well-known personalities, Van Morrison, Bob Geldof and Edna O'Brien to name but a few. Like most emigrants, Angela missed home, so she came back to Mayo. Through the years, she has had work published in many well known newspapers and publications, including the beautifully illustrated book; 'The Story of Mayo' (produced by Mayo County Council).
In recent times Angela has taken her art to a different level. This passionate ciotóg (left-hander) uses her creative eye and a B.A.(Hons.) in Film Video & Photographic Arts to express her love of Mayo which seeps through her calm imagery.
